Here is Act II, Scene 2 from Wagner's opera Lohengrin. The characters in this scene are the cunning sorceress Ortrud, the pure and naive maiden Elsa, and Ortrud's brave but easily manipulated husband Friedrich. Not appearing in this scene is Elsa's beloved, the mysterious knight Lohengrin, who has agreed to marry her on condition that she never ask his name and origin.
